I am looking for a good WordPress job posting solution also. Unfortunately JobPress is lacking a lot of basics that I would want. Or, is there any unannounced news to be told?

Hey Art insight,

Have you had any luck developing/ customizing the Jobpress theme?

I was interested in one thing you said about “prices”, are you saying it only offers you one price structure? i.e. Employers can only post an add at a pre-defined fee? I would like to set my own price for an add. for e.g. £9.99 for 20 days.

I bought what I thought was a plugin…. it is a theme. So I couldn’t added it to the site I was already developing. I had to do an additional WP install and link the two site together with HTML links.

I’m enjoying the PHP coding. I’m not a programmer but the theme is pretty straight forward if you want to customize it. It wasn’t two hard to get the admin setting to give me 2 prices rather than one. So I will be done soon with developing / customizing this theme.

I’m have on major issue. Paypal takes the money but is not speaking correctly with the theme to turn the post from ‘draft’ to ‘publish’.

And now the jobpress theme website as been offline for a while. Anyone know whether the developer decided to release it free? The original developer seems to have gone by the names of Sorel Mihai from Romania. Any info on how to contact the developer will be apreciated.

I agree. I purchased it too and was a bit disappointed with its lack of some basic features, however I love the easyness (If such word exist). It’s so easy to post the job and will attract employers who just want to post a job without all the bells and whistles. It’s almost like Craigslist.com – The simplicity of its usage is what I like the most about it. Plus, it works with WP where you can edit your site with “About Me” “FAQ”, etc.

As to the them itself, I agree 100%: It’s verrrrrryy basic.

I purchased jobpress just to see what it was all about… and you’re correct! It comes with ZERO documentation and ZERO support. I’ve tried to contact them as well with no response. I’ll try to answer any questions you might have about the theme…

1. Ability to upload, store, and make resumes/cv searchable.
Not an option with this theme.

2. Weak support. Sorry, but if youâ€™re going to charge money for a plugin you had better deliver some quality support and forums.
I agree… I would love to work with someone to start this up since the theme has proven to have NO support.

3. Very little information in the form of reviews is available online.
I’ll try and get a review up very soon… I’ll post here when complete.

4. Trialâ€¦ One cannot test out the plugin unless they purchase it. Considering the lack of information available on the plugin; a free trial should be standard.
I agree.

5. Language support. Nothing is stated in the description regarding customization options for foreign languages.
I see no multi-language support.

So, whoâ€™s got experience using this plugin? How difficult would it be to design a plugin like this one yourself if you have no previous experience designing wordpress plugins?
If you have no experience in wordpress… i dont see the average person designing a theme such as this unless you are familiar with PHP. Jobpress does have VERY basic job posting/ paypal capabilities. However, it has some issues as well such as the confirmation email sent after payment is not working correctly as well as numerous grammar errors throughout.

Unless you’re ready to spend some time fixing this theme… its not worth the money.

yes, thats right. jobberbase is a free alternative â€“Â BUT â€“Â you can#t make money with jobberbase. it has no link to paypal or whatever. jobpress is state of the art right now!
