I haven't had the time to actually implement it yet, however as i recall it isn't just a thing for a sidebar. One can also have a page where people can submit stuff and then one can have it as actual or "real" news sort of. That should make it quite easy to create some sort of bookmarking pages a'la Wordpress or some sort of sites where people post stuff in some niche (scripts for example). However.. it would work a bit 50/50 without moderation due to spam. This is a great way for WP-based sites that are a bit more communityoriented!
