Many blogs out there can only produce a couple articles a week while their visitors ask for loads more. It’s sometimes a good idea to add related articles from other blogs to your sidebar. Adding them manually takes lots of time we don’t have.
With this new Community News plugin you allow your visitors to add articles to the sidebar. Complete with moderation panel and a settings page, you can sit back while you have full control about the look and articles that being posted.

This is a great way for WP-based sites that are a bit more communityoriented! I haven’t had the time to actually implement it yet, however as i recall it isn’t just a thing for a sidebar. One can also have a page where people can submit stuff and then one can have it as actual or “real” news sort of.
That should make it quite easy to create some sort of bookmarking pages a’la Wordpress or some sort of sites where people post stuff in some niche (scripts for example).
However.. it would work a bit 50/50 without moderation due to spam.
