Cornerstone is a fixed width, magazine style layout. The upper portion of the sidebar is wide enough to house videos or a variety of ad banner sizes to fit your needs. The lower portion is split into two columns, providing plenty of options for displaying category links, popular posts, flickr photos, etc.

The color scheme was intentionally kept simple so more could be left to the imagination of the end user. Changes can easily be made to colors, fonts and layout in the well commented CSS file.

The theme is widget ready with four enabled areas. For those who prefer more precise control, the sidebar is coded with conditional tags to give you more options over which content shows up where.

Additional features:

  • the “latest entry” is featured automatically on the home page without the need to assign a separate category or install a plugin
  • Asides (or any category you want to use for a side blog) appear in the sidebar
  • full control over “recently featured” excerpts, which categories to pull from, and how many you want displayed
  • built-in support for tagging (WP v2.3+)
  • optional template for static a home page
  • tabbed content module for displaying a “best of” section in the footer

Slayer and BetNG4U invested lots of work to make Styleicious Web 2.0 Wordpress Template what it is and for more than 20 hours they debugged it and improved it to work perfectly. BetNG4U even modified the rating system, because it had some javascript errors and didnt work in IE6. Each time they revised it problems appeared, but finally they fixed everything and everything looks cool. Styleicious Web 2.0 Wordpress template has the following main features:

  • WidgetBucks and Adsense ready
  • widgetized sidebars
  • AJAX rating system
  • Thread tags
  • Tag Cloud
  • Cool hover effects at comment fields
  • XHTML & CSS Valid
  • You will not have any sponsored links in the footer, only a link-back to my blog which i kidnly ask you to keep.
  • AJAX search
  • AJAX comment posting
  • AJAX page navigation (AJAX powered Page navigation will only work if you don’t use mod rewrite, since there are unlimited options to rewrite the URL’s in the admin panel we couldn’t make the AJAX page navigation work with all of them, so only those who have default URL’s will be able to use it(don’t worry, you won’t miss much if you use mod rewrite, in the matter of fact the pages will load a bit faster)

Skittlish is a fun, candy colored theme with seven color options. In addition, it has options for fluid or fixed widths. It is hatom supported and I put in some styling for an OpenID login form. The author used Christian Montoya’s great comment.php template for the comment section. It also supports the following plugins (included in the download):

  • Ultimate Tag Warrior
  • Similar Posts
  • Live Comment Preview
  • Gravatars
  • Get Recent Comments
  • OpenID plugin (included for the fun of it)

The above plugins do not have to be installed but their functions are supported. Install Skittlish like any other Wordpress theme. It should work right out of the box. I didn’t do a thorough testing of it but did put Skittlish through some paces on the latest versions of Firefox, Safari, Flock, Camino, OmniWeb, and Opera. Seems to work fine in all these browsers.
